Broadway Gymnastics School Girls Level 5 Team beat their rivals, winning team titles in their first four meets of the season. The Level 4 Team is right behind, winning two team titles and placing third at Southern California’s third preliminary competition. The Level 6 Team won the Silver Title at the Sectional Championships.

BGS’s Level 5 undefeated team members residing in Malibu and/or attending Santa Monica-Malibu School Districts include Natasha Rothenbucher, Madison DeYoung and Caterina Kachadoorian. Rothenbucher and DeYoung both qualified into the platinum division, an exclusive group of gymnasts earning a score of 37.0 or higher. DeYoung is undefeated so far this season, winning four first-place AA titles, 10 event gold and 3 silver titles. Rothenbucher won four Silver and three Bronze event titles, and also won the bronze AA championship title at the 2008 SoCal West Sectional Championship last month. Kachadoorian won the bronze championship at the BGS Olympic Dream Classic as well as two silver and two bronze event titles. From the Level 6 team title, Chloe Meshel-Wood won one bronze and two gold titles.

Kort Borg, Broadway’s Girls Team Head Coach, stated, “The compulsory teams are off to a great start. We have trained hard all summer and came in prepared for the season.”

The Level 5 Team was the State Champion last year and the squad is in the running to be the state champions again. The Level 4 Team placed fourth last year and is working hard to place among of SoCal’s top three teams this year. The state meets take place this month.
