Malibu Community Jazz Band has changed its venue and approach in 2018. The group will now meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at Malibu United Methodist Church (30218 Morning View Drive), where rehearsals will take place from 6:30-9 p.m.

Residents playing any instrument are welcome to attend, though players versed in horn, reed, flute or keyboard are particularly needed.

The jazz band is looking to learn “The Girl From Ipanema” and “Soul Bossa Nova” (theme song from “Austin Powers”) for its first pieces of 2018.
