In honor of receiving its liquor license on Friday afternoon, Vintage Grocers is planning an impromptu “End of Prohibition” party Saturday, May 10.
Spokesperson Mary Carbonniere said the store will have a live band from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., an outdoor barbecue and “liquor demonstrations” all day.
“We’ll be getting in huge shipments of beer, wine and liquor over the next 24 hours,” Carbonniere said, “including a ton of local wines like Semler and Hoyt. We’re also getting some awesome craft beers in, like Stone Brewery beer from San Diego and House Brew beer made right here in Malibu, plus ‘Malibu Mary’ Bloody Mary mix.”
Vintage Grocers, which opened its doors to the public in mid-March, is located at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Trancas Canyon Road.
