The city says it was a success … in that it was a flop.

Latigo Canyon Road is back in business … after a water line broke at the bottom of the hill … Saturday night.
A huge amount of water washed onto Pacific Coast Highway … and the Latigo Canyon area lost
direct access to PCH for several hours on Saturday night.
Not clear what caused the pipe to fail … but the area is an active landslide.

And speaking of that active landslide … Caltrans is set to begin work tonight on repairing PCH just to the west of Latigo Canyon Road.
A vertical cement retaining wall installed 25 years ago … to hold up the highway … appears to be failing.
The pavement is slumping.
Construction is set to begin tonight at six and continue until sunrise tomorrow morning.
This will go on for 10 weeks.
Slow for the cone zone.

Santa Barbara and Ventura county officials are monitoring this storm system … expected to dump light rain beginning today
The National Weather Service says that … depending on the track of this system … it’s possible that a heavy rain cell could trigger debris flows in the Thomas Fire area.
Malibu could get more than a half inch of rain … over the next three days.

There’s a 30 percent chance of rain today …

Tomorrow should be (((( showery … as this small weather system dances around Southern California.
