Malibu High School sophomore Claudia Lane won the Foot Locker National Championship in Cross Country on Saturday, Dec. 10, with a time of 17:05.
The sophomore had an astounding lead less than 1200 meters into the race, and bolted the first two miles in 10:55. Not letting go of her first place standing, Lane closed out the race just four seconds before her trailing competition.
Lane’s finishing time ties her for the eighth fastest Foot Locker winning time in Balboa Park history.
