Letter: In Randall’s Corner

I am endorsing my dear friend and colleague Carl Randall for Malibu City Council. Carl is a second generation Malibu native, the son of Carl and Carol Randall.

I have had the pleasure of working on the Parks and Recreation Commission with Carl for the past seven years. As our leader, Carl worked tirelessly to help update Malibu’s Parks Master Plan and, for the last three years, enacted a thorough community outreach program that resulted in a comprehensive plan to fulfill the public’s desire for a skatepark, a dog park, basketball courts, additional ball fields, an amphitheater and an aquatic center at Bluffs Park. His vision is to create a multi-generational community gathering place for all to enjoy.

Carl has been instrumental in doubling participation in our Malibu Senior Center and secured additional funds from City Council to allow all seniors to participate in the many successful programs that are now being offered.

Carl is, in my opinion, the perfect guy for the job. He is hardworking, a great listener, level headed and a true family man. When elected to City Council, Carl will continue working on issues that are important to all of us: Expanded facilities at Bluffs Park, PCH safety, pesticide-free parks, local control of our schools and pursuing policies to restrict the commercialization of our neighborhoods.

I hope you will join me and vote for Carl this November 8th.

Vice Chair, Parks and Recreation Commission
