The Malibu Association of Realtors held its first membership meeting of 2010 at Duke’s restaurant in Malibu, presided over by association president Jan Thompson.
The meeting was sponsored by The Malibu Times, among other sponsors, who provided prizes and information for Realtors to use in marketing properties. Featured speakers included Ed Begley Jr. of “Living with Ed,” who shared his experience with firm Gray Water Recycling and creating his home’s gray water system. Speakers also included Vic Peterson, director of development for the City of Malibu; Jim Thorsen, city manager; and Planning Manager Joyce Parker-Bozylinski, who shared information about pending developments and how they will affect residents. Matt Garth, legislative liaison for the California Association of Realtors, also spoke about political issues the state organization is facing in Sacramento this year.
