I’d like to put forward a plea for Malibu Towing; its services have been crucial during the fire. Someone had to abandon their truck in the middle of our narrow road during the fire. There were still homes standing above where the truck was blocking the road, but the emergency vehicles could not make it through due to the truck. With no phone service or power, I took a chance and drove into town where I found the owner of Malibu Towing staged on the side of the road. Thankfully, he agreed to go all the way up Latigo Canyon in treacherous conditions to move the truck at no cost. Thanks to him, the fire trucks could then get through and help us extinguish spot fires. He explained they are days away from going out of business because the city won’t let them have a space to work from. Please, urge the city to allow Malibu Towing to stay. They are a critical part of the community and a crucial element in maintaining a safe environment. We need to have this company stay! Please!
