Malibu Village, Malibu Country Mart and Malibu Lumber Yard will present Merry Merry Malibu, a weekend of festive celebrations for locals to attend, at their locations on Cross Creek Road next month.
On Saturday, Dec. 9, the festivities kick off at noon with an ice sculpture artist who will transform the Country Mart into a “winter wonderland” until 2 p.m. Attendees can also pose for photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and participate in family-friendly activities. From 2-5 p.m., the Lumber Yard hosts a number of activities including holiday crafts, a gingerbread cookie decorating workshop, pet adoptions from Chiquita’s Friends, carolers and a tree exhibit (created by local artists).
On Sunday, Dec. 10, the Village hosts the 14th annual Malibu Christmas Woodie Parade, featuring woodies (a type of car where the rear portion of the bodywork is made of wood).
Several restaurants and shops will also donate a portion of their sales from Dec. 9 and 10 to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; there will be a toy collection for the hospital.
