Malibu’s Bruce Dern to be honored

Malibu resident and Academy Award-nominated actor Bruce Dern has been selected to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th annual The Method Fest film festival slated to take place March 25-31 in Calabasas and Agoura Hills.

Dern will receive the award March 28 at 6 p.m., prior to the screening of the centerpiece film “The Lightkeepers,” at the Regency Agoura Hills 8 Theatre, located at 29045 Agoura Hills Road.

Dern’s career includes more than 90 film and television roles. He emerged in the film, “Silent Running,” then played alongside Jack Nicholson in “The King of Marvin Gardens,” among others. His daughter Laura Dern has also become one of America’s finest actors.

Dern joins a select group of actors who have received The Method Fest Lifetime Achievement Award, including James Earl Jones (2001), Dennis Hopper, Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer.
