Malibu will see drizzle, fog and showers this morning and then drying out this afternoon.
Higher elevations in Malibu got a half inch of rain overnight.
About a half inch fell in the Yerba Buena area … also
A third of an inch in Malibu Canyon.
And about a quarter inch here at Trancas.
Another stronger storm moves into the region Friday night and continue into Saturday.
The notable feature with this weekend storm system is a decent plume of subtropical moisture that it might tap into over Southern California.
Rain should arrive after midnight Saturday … and we should have steady rain through about noon.
Total rain predicted … around an inch.
But it will not likely fall fast enough to trigger mud flows in Malibu.
And if you thought this month was cool … you are right.
It was the first February in 144 years of record keeping that downtown Los Angeles failed to reach 70 degrees at any point.
