County crews have gone to about half of the destroyed houses in western L-A County …. to remove hazmat materials and issue yellow placards.

The deadline has been extended for business owners … self-employed individuals or workers who have lost income due to the Woolsey Fire in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The California Film Commission has maintained its ban on filming in several Malibu areas hit by the Woolsey Fire.
Due to continued clean-up and repair work along Pacific Coast Highway … no permits for filming on the highway are being issued
The city of Malibu is also not allowing film permits to be issued in most of the fire area.
But the City of Malibu -is- allowing filming east of Malibu Canyon Road.
Film permits can be issued … however … at Point Mugu State Park and El Matador, La Piedra and El Pescador beaches.

Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner, who was sworn in as Mayor on December 10, 2018, started “Meet the Mayor,” an ongoing series of open office hours together with City Manager Reva Feldman, to offer community members the chance to meet City leadership face-to-face, ask questions, voice concerns, discuss ideas and get information.
The first Meet the Mayor event takes place Thursday, December 20, 10:00 AM in the Zuma Room of Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu CA 90265). The event is open to all to attend, and any topics are open for discussion. The Mayor asks only that a civil, constructive discourse be maintained.

KBUU has been running on small gas powered generators since going back on the air … 8 days after the fire.
We’ve installed a new battery system … for overnights …
