We are mad as hell and we are not going to take this any more. The noise pollution on PCH must stop. This afternoon (Sunday) we were walking along the promenade at Zuma Beach. Every few minutes our conversation was drowned out by motorcycles speeding along PCH. The noise was so loud, we could almost feel it. It is inconceivable that so much noise can be made without exhaust systems having been illegally altered. Also, motorcyclists should not be gunning their engines as they ride through residential communities such as Malibu.
The Highway Patrol and Sheriff’s Department should issue more warnings and/or citations. Appropriate signs warning that noise levels are being monitored might also help. Of course, motorcyclists have the right to use our public roads. But they do not have the right to pollute our environment with their noise. We should not allow PCH to be a motorcycle speedway.
