Malibu Rebuild Task Force online permit tracker

The Malibu Rebuild Task Force (MRTF) created an online permit tracker designed to give residents and property owners a clearer picture of rebuilding progress in Malibu following the Palisades Fire.

The interactive Malibu Permit Tracker allows users to search properties by address or Assessor Parcel Number (APN) and view where individual properties stand in the rebuilding and permitting process. The tracker also includes City case and permit information when available.

Properties are organized into several stages, including in planning, pending plan check, in plan check, permit issued, under construction and complete. The system also identifies properties that sustained more than 50 percent loss.

Users can search and sort the database and view additional information related to geographic and coastal reports. The tracker also includes a field identifying MRTF zone captains, providing another way for residents to follow rebuilding activity within their area.

The tool is intended to make the complicated rebuilding process easier to follow by bringing permit and property information into one searchable location as Malibu continues its long-term recovery.

According to the tracker, its data was last updated in June 2026.

Residents can access the interactive tracker through the Malibu Rebuild Task Force’s online portal:
