Nobody else to blame

I am amazed that Robert Adler, after ignoring the city attorney’s advice and being fired, continues to write letters expecting the public to embrace a lower standard of ethics on the part of officials to assuage his conscience. Mr. Adler should take a deep breath and stop blaming everyone else for his lack of judgment.

It is not a vindication to blame the City Council for his own involvement in favoring one neighbor over another in a Planning Commission hearing, with grave consequences. The Brown Act exists to provide safeguards against unequal protection under the law, and his actions were unfortunate.
