Every Crayon Counts

August is National Crayon Collection Month

Every kid should be coloring. For National Crayon Collection Month, Malibu-based nonprofit The Crayon Collection encourages families and teachers to ask managers at kid-friendly restaurants to save their discarded crayons.

These discarded crayons will be donated to local schools and will be placed in the hands of children who may not otherwise have the chance to color their artistic creations.

Crayons can’t decompose, but in the hands of creative children they can be used as an outlet for boundless imagination.

Participants should bring their collection of crayons to their local school at the end of the month for kids to use in their classrooms.
