The City of Malibu and the Los Angeles County Fire Department are conducting a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course. The series of seven classes will take place Thursday evenings from Jan. 31 through March 21 at Malibu City Hall.
The purpose of the Malibu CERT is to provide help during emergency situations in Malibu and surrounding areas, as well as educate the public and promote disaster awareness. Participants learn skills such as fire suppression, disaster medical triage and rescue, first aid, and light search and rescue.
