Bravo for acknowledging trad or classic jazz via the Rosie McHargue article. It’s hard to believe how little (almost zero) coverage the majors give to the trad jazz even though the turnouts are good, as the Costa Mesa affair will attest. Fifty years from now most rock will be forgotten, contemp jazz will be off in new directions, but the toe-tapping music of Joplin, McHargue, Watters, et al, will live on with periodic renaissances because it is melodic, as are most classical numbers.
