Two new free-access electric vehicle charging stations were unveiled Friday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Malibu’s Civic Center. Mayor John Sibert wielded the scissors to inaugurate the use of the chargers. The chargers, which were installed several years ago and look like parking meters, have been retrofitted to accommodate a new generation of electric vehicles. They were upgraded by ClipperCreek, an EV technology company, using state grant money.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were actor Larry Hagman, ClipperCreek representative Len Fein and Suzanne Maxx, founder of the non-profit organization World Team Now, as well as Malibu City Councilmembers Lou La Monte, Jefferson Wagner and Mayor Pro Tem Laura Rosenthal.
