The Malibu Search and Rescue Team helped a family of three after they were unable to safely get down from a steep cliff at Escondido Falls on April 28.
The family was identified as two 38-year-old parents and a 17-year-old daughter. The three were stranded up on the cliff, surrounded by unstable grounds.
The team responded to the scene at approximately 9:35 a.m. Members hiked up 400 feet before finally making voice contact with the family.
“They were perched well to the right of the Falls in an area not usually traveled,” MSAR shared in a Twitter post.
The three were put into safety harnesses and were later rappelled down the cliff side in a rescue that lasted more than four hours.
No injuries were reported.
