The Malibu Times Media Group is proud to present its newest publication “What To Do In Malibu—The Insider’s Guide to Malibu & the Santa Monica Mountains.” Designed to provide visitors with an overview of the area’s natural wonders, accommodations, vineyards, dining and event options and other area resources, this first edition is the product of a cooperative venture between the Malibu Times Media Group and the Malibu Santa Monica Mountains Recreation and Visitor Alliance.
“What To Do In Malibu” is a project we’ve had in mind virtually forever” said Malibu Times Publisher Karen York. “When Anthony [McDemas] approached us with his ideas and offered the support of the Alliance, he presented the perfect opportunity to realize our vision. I am delighted with the outcome for the Times, for our community and for our advertisers.
Championed by the Times’ Connections Director and Alliance Executive Director, Anthony McDemas, and designed by award-winning Creative Director Nira Lichten, the guide features directories, a pull-out map, beach and trail listings, stories, wedding and event locations, restaurant guides and more; all supported by stunning photography. A “turn-page” edition of the publication will soon be available on the new “What To Do In Malibu” website (whattodoinmalibu.com) and via links from malibutimes.com and malibutimesmag.com.
“It became clear to me that Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains have needed a comprehensive visitor’s guide for years,” McDemas said. “While multiple Malibu publications target residents, we have designed WTDIM for both residents and the approximately 15 million day trippers, families, Pepperdine visitors, national and international tourists, hotel guests and renters who visit us each year.”
His company, PocketMate Maps, has recently produced an area map for hotels and local businesses.
“What To Do In Malibu—The Insider’s Guide to Malibu & the Santa Monica Mountains” is priced at $4.99 and is currently available at newsstands in Malibu and throughout Southern California. It is also distributed to local and adjacent area hotels and available at retail stores, high-traffic tourist areas and at Los Angeles and Burbank airports.
