With morning temperatures hovering near freezing—abnormally cold for Los Angeles and Malibu—the National Weather Service issued a frost advisory Monday at 9 a.m. and its expected to last until early New Year’s Day.
Temperatures are expected to dip again Monday night to between 28 and 32 degrees in areas near the Santa Monica Mountains, which could result in overnight patches of frost. NWS advises people to shield plants from the chill, which can be deadly to outdoor plants if they are left uncovered.
The daytime high Monday in Malibu is expected to be 60 degrees.
