This is an open letter to every politician and to every person contemplating a run for public office in the future. I hereby promise, cross my heart and hope to die, that I will not ever again vote for anyone who uses attack ads to smear their political opponents. If I want to vote Republican and you are a Republican who uses attack ads, goodbye forever. If I wanted to vote Democratic and you are a Democrat who uses attack ads, good be forever. The same goes for Libertarians, Communists, Vegetarians-I really do not care. I have had it up to here and will not take this affront to my intelligence any longer.
If you cannot mount a positive campaign based on what you have done in office or promise to do if elected to office, save your postage, your television budget, your telephone solicitation budget and get out of my face. I will not vote for you.
