Pepperdine runner Izzy Connell brought down three school records during an outstanding performance at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational last week. The sprinter set two individuals in the 200- and 400-meter races and was part of a record-breaking 4×400-meter relay team.
Connell scored sixth in the 400-meter race and brought down a record formerly set in 2011 with a time of 57.61. In the 200-meter race, she bettered her own record and broke the 25-second mark with a time of 24.97 — gaining her a fourth-place finish.
Connell joined junior Jordan Spencer, freshman Catie Barilla and sophomore Claudia Rodriguez to lower the 4×400-meter relay record for the third time this season with a time of 3:56.39.
Next, the Waves will travel to San Diego to compete in the Aztec Invitational on March 26.
