The 2014 Malibu Speaker Series will start Wed., Jan. 15 with director, writer and producer Tom Shadyac. Shadyac’s best-known movies include “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Nutty Professor” and “Patch Adams.” His first book, “Life’s Operating Manual,” is a New York Times best-seller.
Shadyac will speak at the Malibu Civic Theater at 7 p.m. Other scheduled speakers include USC English professor Carol Muske-Dukes (Feb. 19), science writer Michael Shermer (March 26) and motivational speaker Jesse Billauer (April 23).
