Sina Khankhanian, 26, will return to court Dec. 8 for a trial setting at the Airport Branch Courthouse in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. Khankhanian, who has pleaded not guilty, is being charged with one count of murder in the death of local 13-year-old Emily Rose Shane. Shane died April 3 when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Khankanian on Pacific Coast Highway. The defendant faces as maximum sentence of life with the possibility of parole if convicted, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s Office.
