These are some exciting times we live in, here and now. There is the promise of new blood not only in the White House but right here in Malibu. It seems everyone is talking about change these days.
We have three city council seats up for grabs on April 8. If you are disgusted with how things have been going down in Malibu the past few years, assuming you’re paying attention, then you should be pretty excited. There’s a great chance to shift the balance from the status quo to some real progressives on the council.
If you read this paper, then chances are you are registered to vote already. If not, then please do so. Without being a pest, communicate the importance of voting or registering to vote to others.
If you are concerned about the handling of the emergency communication (or lack of) during the recent fires, potential of overnight camping, shady real estate transactions, large scale developments without consideration of environmental impact reviews and no plans for “smart growth,” there’s hope, but only if you vote. And don’t even get me started on our filthy beaches and ocean water.
