BONE Structure, which specializes in the design, development and marketing of technologies for residential and commercial construction, hosted an open house at its construction site on Bluewater Road near Point Dume with CEO and President Marc Bovet.

Bovet shared with Malibu residents some of the ways BONE works to fire proof homes, including using high-performance insulation and unventilated attic space.

Bovet founded BONE, which holds 27 patents in construction materials and techniques, after becoming “aware of the shortcomings of conventional building techniques,” according to the company’s website. He used experience he had garnered in upper management at aerospace and transportation manufacturer Bombardier to assemble a team of more than 60 engineers, architects, and industrial and interior designers to develop the steel construction system used in BONE Structure homes.
