Laura Rosenthal is right about one thing-and only one thing: “Our schools need repairs, upkeep and maintenance, just like our homes.” Yes, Laura. The difference is that when my home needs upkeep and maintenance I can’t go begging to the community for the money to do it. I have to work within my budget. And when some misguided school bond cuts into my budget, as the previous two bonds did, then I have less money to maintain my home. Is that a fair tradeoff? I don’t doubt that the schools need repairs; my home also needs repairs. So I’ll make you a promise; I’ll live within my means if you live within yours.
