Skardu Valley

Local real estate broker, family man and athletic enthusiast Brant Didden left the country on June 23 for a seven-week journey to climb K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, located on the Pakistan-China border.

According to an update from June 30, Didden and his group were resting in the Skardu Valley to prepare to head by Jeep toward Askole, which is where they will begin an approximately 80-mile trek to base camp. Normal temperatures for this time of year in the valley can reach the 100s, but Didden reported that temperatures remained relatively cool.
