Members of Malibu’s dedicated Volunteers on Patrol program received a commendation from Mayor Skylar Peak at last week’s city council meeting in recognition of the group’s service to the City of Malibu and its residents and visitors, in coordination with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

Lance Anderson, Connor Blake, Guy Blake, Jeff Brown, Jerri Churchill, Griffen Dietrich, Al Ehringer, Jad Eshai, Cole Glenwright, David Kyman, Andrea Pasquettin, Mark Russo and Don Sands were recognized by the city and received certificates of recognition at the Aug. 28 council meeting.

“Thank you guys very much for being here,” Peak said after reading the text of the commendation, “I just wanted to give all my support to you guys … we’re so grateful for the thousands of hours of community service you guys give our community.”

After accepting their certificates, Volunteers on Patrol leadership in turn thanked the city.

“We really appreciate what the city does for us. You guys really support us in so many different ways,” Russo told council. “The sheriff’s department we work with is just a fantastic group of individuals.”
