Malibu resident Ellen Weitman was awarded this year’s Spirit of Volunteerism Award by the Junior League of Los Angeles (JLLA) at its Harvest Boutique event on Dec. 6. The award honors Weitman’s years of service to the JLLA and the community at large.
Weitman joined JLLA in 1980 and has since held a number of leadership positions, including Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Community Director, SPAC Community Director and Membership Director. She currently holds several leadership roles as a Sustainer, including Sustaining Director and Advisor to JLLA Past President Linda Small.
Outside of her league involvement, Weitman and her husband Doug have raised two sons and developed several businesses.
