4 major fires in So Cal. 80,000 acres burning.
Malibu schools  (SMMUSD) will not be in session Thursday.
Santa Monica College WILL be in session Thursday, based on the 6p Wed conditions.
 
This is the 3:15 update for the Skirball 405 Fire.
Plus the 4:15 update for the Creek Fire, San Fernando Valley
also and Rye Fire, NW of Santa Clarita

Forecast for tomorrow is 75 degrees and 4 percent humidity.
The brush index (fuel load, wind, temp, humidity) is 296. That is the gighest number ever. 165 is threshold for worry.
20-40 mph winds sustained with gusts 65-75 mph
 
AT THE SEPULVEDA FIRE (3:15p briefing)
– 475 acres.
– Forward progress of Sepulveda Fire has been stopped.
– 5 percent containment as of 3 pm. Handlines being cut.
– Fire has not been spread by wind to west side of 405.
– Winds diminished this morning, but Santa Anas will resume tonight.
– 7 houses destroyed.
– Evacuation area is unchanged: 405 to Sunset to Roscomore to Mulholland.
– Precautionary evacuations west of 405: Mount St Mary’s College down to Sunset.
– Traffic apps are inaccurate. Do not follow traffic apps as they are sending people into evac area.
– Additional LA schools may be closed tomorrow.
– Creek Fire has closed 92 LAUSD and charter schools in the Valley due to poor air quality. www.LAUSD.net has school closures.
 
AT THE CREEK FIRE IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY:
Creek Fire in the San Fernando Valley is now 11,370 acres
5 percent contained
300 fire trucks from Nor cal and other areas heading to LA County.
210 freeway open but no exits open.
Evacuations will continue tonight but the area is not safe yet with anticipated winds tonight.
110,000 households in mandatory evacuation area now.
265 LAUSD and charter schools in the Valley and Westside will be closed tomorrow.
6 shelters open in Valley. Only 77 housed there, capacity is 12,000.
1,100 firefighters.
80 mph winds predicted in mountains tonight.
East Valley and West Valley shelters taking small animals.
Hansen Dam has room for 100 horses.
Large animals can also go to Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.
Hollywood Hills parking restrictions go into effect at 8am
Small family pets OK at city vac centers in Valley.
City is activating Red flag parking rules in ALL areas. Do not park on hillside streets.
 
AT THE RYE FIRE in Santa Clarita:
– 7,000 acres
– 5% containment.
– All evacs lifted.
– 700 firefighters.
– Worry is on LA-Ventura county line area west of Magic Man amusement park.
LA Unified closes 265 schools Thursday and Friday, including all schools in SF Valley.
