Malibu residents Michael Kaplan and Lisa S. Johnson opened their home to host the Los Angeles premier fundraiser for “Children Born of the Water” on May 20 as part of the conscious film movement’s beginnings in Malibu.

Directed by award-winning independent director Rob Nilsson and produced by psychologist and mythologist Dr. Howard Teich, “Children Born of the Water” is a full-feature film that depicts a new culture based on empathy and complementarity, as well as a vision of men and women as harmonious beings rather than gender competitors. The film revolves around the balance of solar and lunar light energy, and how both men and women can use it in their everyday lives and eventually heal the planet.

Malibu residents and award-winning actors and actresses attended the event, including Stacey Keach, Tanya Roberts, Tom Bower, Elea Oberon and Catherine McClenahan.
