Malibu canine actor, therapy dog and radio co-host Super Smiley recently received two important honors.

The former shelter dog was chosen to play Raquel Welch’s dog in the Hallmark film “The Ultimate Legacy.” He will join an esteemed cast, which includes Lee Meriwether, Brian Dennehy, Bill Cobbs, Myko Oliver and his real-life owner Megan Blake. “The Ultimate Legacy” premieres on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel this month.

Super Smiley has also received a Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) nomination for his “Kindness” music video, which portrays themes of kindness and animals as healers and teachers. The DWAA will host its annual awards banquet in New York City this Sunday, Feb. 14.

In addition to his acting career, Super Smiley spends much of his time co-hosting “A Super Smiley Adventure” on Pet Life Radio — the world’s largest pet radio network. He is also the Official Ambassador of Kindness for State Farm, and can often be found around Malibu with Blake and his German Shepherd girlfriend, Angel.
