The Malibu High School varsity boys basketball team placed second in the Viewpoint Tournament last week. The Sharks (4-4) opened with three straight victories over Northridge Academy, Viewpoint and Faith Baptist, before losing in the final game to Crossroads. After scoring 33 points in the win over Northridge, MHS senior Chandler Abbott was forced to leave the game against Viewpoint after suffering a concussion and chipping his front teeth. The rest of the Sharks banded together to finish the game and pull out a victory the following day against Faith Baptist without Abbott, who rejoined the team for the final game. Malibu returns to action this week with two games on the road when they face Channel Islands and Villanova Prep.
