Letter: Proceed With Caution

On Saturday, Feb. 22, I was hand-walking a young, saddled horse up Busch Drive, between Calpine Drive and the parkland parking lot. The horse was on the inside, and I was on the white line.

I saw a fast approaching car coming toward us and motioned with my hand to slow down. The car sped up and almost hit me, honking repeatedly. The car (a dark SUV, perhaps a BMW) turned left onto Cuthbert.

This clearly could have been a huge disaster. Horses spook, and he could have been killed, and/or myself. I realize this individual has zero care for animals, but perhaps they’ll slow down next time so their car is not ruined by running into a 1,000 pound animal. Riders beware!
