Bank of Books celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a special story time and visit from Kool Kat on Saturday. “The Cat in the Hat” and other Dr. Seuss books were read by Steve Posey, Mr. Steve, a teacher at St. Aidan’s. Therapy animal Kool Kat, certified by Love on a Leash, a national pet therapy organization, lounged on his companion, Malibu resident Karen Smythe’s lap. “We’re always happy to see Kool Kat. It’s an opportunity to teach the little ones to be very gentle with animals. Since Dr. Seuss’s birthday is coming up on March 2, we decided to read ‘The Cat in the Hat’ as a tribute both to our kitty visitor and Dr. Seuss,” said Manager of Bank of Books Pam Eilerson.
