Jeffrey Bonhach, who was once hired to head project development at Malibu Pier, died Jan. 12. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Bonhach took his own life. He was 53.

Actor Peter Fonda discovered Bonhach’s lifeless body slumped over in a car on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades about 2 p.m. last Wednesday. It has been reported that his body was there for three days before the “Easy Rider” actor discovered him.

Bonhach was born May 10, 1957 in Conyers, Ga. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville. Bonhach then lived in Philadelphia before moving to Los Angeles. He was formerly married to politician and attorney Heather Peters, who vied for the Republican nomination for governor of California in the 2004 election.

After Bonhach had left the Malibu Pier project, he was later involved in a lawsuit against Malibu Pier Partners in 2007.

Bonhach is survived by his brother George.

A private ceremony will be held.
