We asked people around town how they celebrated America’s independence this year. Check out what the had to say in the photos at left!
“We came over from Broad Beach and started with the parade over at Little Dume at the Point. Watched all the decorated golf carts go by and all the kids and we cheered for them. We didn’t go back to Broad Beach because of the traffic so we just stayed on the Point the whole day and the whole night, about 12 hours!”
“I was down at Little Dume at a private beach, surfing and enjoying a party. Then we all waited for the fireworks at night, which were awesome. I live down the canyon, didn’t leave till after 10, so the traffic wasn’t too bad.”
“I live in the valley, we didn’t want to travel anywhere. We’re out in Malibu today because we knew the traffic and everything would be crazy yesterday, so we came out today to have a good time with all my friends. We love Malibu and we love Paradise Cove, so we came out today!”
“I was over in West L.A., I left pretty early probably around 9 a.m., came out to the house over in County Line. It wasn’t a bad year for traffic at all. I was here for the fireworks but it was a bit overcast so I missed that.”
“I used to live in Malibu, we were actually in Ventura last night with friends. I didn’t come all the way in because I didn’t want to deal with the traffic, we tried to escape at 10 at night from Ventura and got caught in quite a bit of traffic on the freeways. We came to Malibu today (Friday) instead!”
