[12:20 p.m. update] Two females who became stranded at Escondido Falls have been airlifted to safety at the Escondido Falls trailhead, SAR Capt. David Katz said, at approximately 12:15 p.m.
“They climbed up and then found themselves stuck at the top of the fallsĀ unable to go back down because of the treacherous terrain,” Katz said. Ā

Two women are stranded at Escondido Falls, according to the Malibu Search and Rescue (SAR) Team. Authorities responded to the call just after 11 a.m.
The women are not injured but “cannot advance upwards or downwards,” according to SAR Captain David Katz. Crews from Fire Station 71, a Los Angeles County Fire helicopter and SAR team members are at the scene.
