The nomination period for the upcoming Malibu City Council race in April ended yesterday, leaving a field of 7 candidates. The official candidates are: Joan House, Hans Laetz, Andy Lyon, Hamish Patterson, Skylar Peak, John Sibert and Missy Zeitsoff.
There are currently three open seats on the council. At least two of them will be filled by new faces. Current city councilmember Pamela Conley Ulich is term-limited, while councilmember Jefferson Wagner announced last week he would not run again. Current city councilmember John Sibert is running for re-election.
