Bestselling author Anne Lamott is set to speak Thursday night in Malibu as part of the city’s ongoing 2013 Speaker Series.Â
Lamott has penned several novels and nonfiction works such as “Help Thanks Wow: The Three Essential Prayers,” based on what she believes to be three prayers that can get anyone through the day. Much of her work is autobiographical.
She is the third author to take part in the city’s inaugural series, with Garth Stein and Kerry Max Cook speaking earlier this year. “Eat Pray Love” author Elizabeth Gilbert will close out the series on June 23.Â
Lamott is scheduled speak Thursday in Malibu City Hall’s Civic Theater at 7 p.m.
