Former Malibu local Ryan Burroughs will marry Kathleen Parmer on June 29 in Lake Tahoe. Burroughs graduated from Malibu High School with honors, and several of his Malibu classmates will be in the wedding party, including Kenji Tarumoto, Ken Ogawa, Kim Kellen, Blake Crawford, Andreas Ong and Mike Lee.
The couple met at their alma mater, the University of California, Santa Barbara, where Burroughs received a Bachelor of Arts in global studies and Parmer received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She also received an MBA from UCLA.
Burroughs is the son of James Burroughs and Suzanne Bauman of Los Angeles and Parmer is the daughter of Dr. Jonathan Parmer and Roberta Parmer of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Big Fork, Mont.
After the wedding, the couple will live in Burlingame, Calif.
