Students from the Sycamore School got to experience a hands-on sample of veterinary life when they toured the Malibu Animal Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
As part of their tour, the students were taught how to examine the ears of a golden retriever, take samples and study slides under a microscope. They also learned how to use surgical grabbers and an endoscope to remove a toy storm trooper from a pumpkin in a mock surgical simulation.
Along with teaching science lessons, the visit contributed to the Sycamore School’s mission of teaching students to understand and help build community in Malibu.
