The publisher of the Malibu Surfside News was hospitalized earlier this month after suffering several major health issues and remained in serious condition, according to an editorial written by her son in the June 13 edition of the newspaper.
Anne Soble was admitted to a hospital emergency room on June 7 in critical condition after suffering kidney failure, a possible heart attack and a leg wound infection, her son Mark Soble wrote. After receiving treatment, Soble’s condition had improved, but she remained hospitalized in serious condition.
Mark Soble wrote that his mother’s hospitalization, coupled with previous health issues, meant that the June 13 edition of the newspaper would be her last as publisher and editor. Anne Soble has owned and edited the Malibu Surfside News for 37 years.
