A man who was throwing rocks at cars on the Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades was arrested Thursday after an altercation with police officers during which he allegedly tried to grab one officer’s gun, the Palisadian-Post reported.

“[Los Angeles Police Department] officers approached the man an during an amicable interaction he just went crazy,” according to a report by Palisades Patrol, the private security force that patrols the area.

Two Palisades Patrol officers were reportedly called in to help during the altercation, which was reported at 3:15 p.m. Thursday and took place on the beach side of PCH just south of Sunset Boulevard near the Bel-Air Bay Club.

LAPD officers put out an “officer needs help call and two Pali Patrol sergeants…got there and helped subdue the suspect,” Palisades Patrol told the Palisadian-Post. The man was in custody by 4 p.m.

LAPD Sgt. Duke told the Palisidian-Post that there were no major injuries during the altercation and that it is still under investigation. Officers could provide no addition information Friday morning.
