Los Angeles County Lifeguards announced Friday they had temporarily began recruiting for ocean lifeguards. They are looking for quality individuals with aquatic experience who possess the LA County Fire Department’s core values: integrity, teamwork, community, commitment, encouraging, and caring.
Eligible candidates must be 18 years or older by the first day of academy, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and must have a valid California Driver License.
Starting salary for a Recurrent Ocean Lifeguard is: $24.67 or $27.49 with E.M.T. Certification (as of 06/2017).
The application period begins July 21 at 8 a.m. and runs through August 4 at 5 p.m. Applications will be suspended after August 4 or after the initial 1,000 applications are collected. No applications will be considered after the first 1,000.
