Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corporation, a national credit-building firm with an office in Malibu, continued its practice of local charitability last year by presenting a $180,000 check to the Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation (SMMEF), benefitting public schools in Malibu and Santa Monica. Taken with $150,000 in matching funds from other area donors, the benefit to local students totaled $330,000.

“We believe that the road forward for our community is through education and cannot think of a better way to serve and give back than helping our kids,” said Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. CEO Jeff Stibel (in photo).

Recipient of the Harvey Baskin Business Award, Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. is recognized for improving local communities through its EdAhead Initiative.

Under EdAhead, the company matches each employees contribution and gives a second match to local public school systems equal to the total aggregate match of the office employees’ amounts. In addition to Malibu, Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. has also donated to school districts in its Bethlehem, Penn., Greensboro, N.C., Short Hills, N.J., and Tuscon, Ariz. locations. The program is designed to promote the value of a college education and invest in students’ futures in and out of school.

“It’s not just for parents. Any employee can be a steward of a child’s educational opportunity,” the company wrote in the program’s mission statement.

Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. opened its Malibu office in 2010 and the company plans to continue contributing to the SMMEF.

“For us, there is no better place to start and grow a business so we are proud of our roots here in Malibu,” Stibel said. “We feel that Malibu has helped enable our success and hopefully our donation to the Malibu schools will act as our part to give back.”
