Longtime Malibu resident John Ernest Collins will celebrate his 97th birthday on June 2.
Collins was born on June 2, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served four years in WWII stationed in the South Pacific, where he met his first wife, Rekanui. Collins has five children — Ted, Koa, Kay, Kathy and George — and five grandchildren.
